Wiregrass Daily News had the pleasure of meeting with Christina from Alabama Dance Works, a professional dance company that brings together dancers from across the country. In addition to its main company, Alabama Dance Works offers local dance classes and runs an outreach program that teaches dance in area schools—ending in a free recital for families. Their next performance, Continuum, will be held at the newly renovated Dothan Opera House from Thursday, June 12 through Saturday, June 14 at 7 p.m. each night. The show explores life’s emotional journey—grief, joy, love, and more—through powerful storytelling and movement. Wiregrass Daily News sat down with Dothan United Dragons head coach Carl Reynolds to discuss what’s ahead for the team this week.
The scheduled Tuesday night match against Atletico Orlando has been postponed due to a scheduling conflict. Attention now shifts to Saturday night, when the Dragons will return home to face off against Birmingham Legion at Rip Hughes Stadium.
The Dragons will enter the match riding a wave of momentum following a dominant 5-0 victory on the road in Atlanta last weekend. With morale high, the team will continue their pursuit of a standout season, and Saturday’s contest against Birmingham is expected to be a strong test.
In addition to the on-field action, Saturday night will also feature a School Supply Donation drive, sponsored by All In Credit Union.
Fans who bring a school supply item to the gate will receive free entry to the match. The drive aims to support Dothan schools and the community is encouraged to come out, and show their support for both education and local soccer.
