Wiregrass Daily News had the pleasure of chatting with Jenny Williams, a board member of the Chrysalis, A Home for Girls, about an inspiring upcoming event that blends community fun with a powerful mission.
This Sunday, Chrysalis will host a Butterfly Release at Landmark Park from 2 to 4 p.m. Families and community members are invited to take part in this heartwarming afternoon filled with activities and meaning.
Near the park’s playground, children can enjoy a variety of engaging activities including face painting, giant bubbles, and arts and crafts.
At 3:30 p.m., the butterflies—having been kept safely and gently at rest—will be passed around and released all at once in a breathtaking moment of unity and symbolism.
Chrysalis, A Home for Girls provides a wide range of support services for girls and young women. These include moderate foster care, 24/7 supervision, counseling, therapy, life skills coaching, tutoring, and transportation to and from jobs, helping young women transition to a more independent lifestyle.
Sunday’s butterfly release offers a unique opportunity for the Wiregrass community to enjoy a meaningful afternoon while supporting an organization dedicated to empowering young lives.
